Central New York native, Ryan Quinn, is recording in California with former 805 drummer Frank Briggs.

Ryan Quinn is doing great since his stint on The Voice, he has now hooked up with former Rome native Frank Briggs.

how did I not hear of this guy?

Briggs is internationally known for his top-selling instructional book/DVD package “The Complete Modern Drum Set,” which has remained in Mel Bay Publications’ top 10 percussion books for the past 22 years and has worked/recorded with a large number of diverse artists.

When Briggs first heard Quinn he was impressed and wondered "how did I not hear of this guy?" he became a real fan before he reached out to Ryan Quinn's dad offering up some help when he moved to LA.

Needless to say, Frank Briggs and Ryan Quinn work really well together. Quinn calls Briggs his LA Dad. Briggs has put together an all-star band for Quinn that currently features Loren Gold (The Who, Kenny Loggins) on keys, Chris Golden (Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Black Eyed Peas) on bass, Aaron Kaplan (Rod Stewart, TV, Film Composer) on guitar and Briggs on drums.

Briggs says "I am just trying to do whatever I can to give Ryan a leg up. To me, he's a star that just needs to be exposed to the rest of the world. Right now I'm working with him and producing tracks and seeking management and possibly a label." Briggs says because success in the music business is so random, he would like to get Ryan around some marketing power to make this happen in a big way.

So far they've recorded three videos live in Briggs' studio so people can hear them without any enhancement. Also included is a few videos with The King Bees.
