Police officer put their lives on the line every day. Unfortunately, there are times when officers make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the state of New York. We want to make sure those officers who have fallen are not forgotten.

This week we salute Trooper Kenneth B. Knapp. Trooper Knapp was killed during a domestic disturbance call on July 17, 1945. Trooper Knapp entered the residence believing the subject had committed  suicide. When Trooper Knapp entered the room the husband shot him in the head with a 16 guage shotgun.

Several hours later, while barricaded, the husband committed suicide.

Trooper Knapp was assigned to Troop C at the time of his death.

If you know an officer who should be remembered in our 'Fallen But Not Forgotten' series email Don.Wagner@townsquaremedia.com.
