Trooper Brian N. Rovnak Fallen But Not Forgotten
Police officer put their lives on the line every day. Unfortunately, there are times when officers make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the state of New York. We want to make sure those officers who have Fallen are not Forgotten.
This week we salute Trooper Brian N. Rovnak. Trooper Brian N.Rovnak lost his life on February 2, 1983, at the age of 39 in a one-car accident on Interstate 84, five miles east of the Taconic Parkway. The accident occurred while Trooper Rovnak and his partner were on route to meet another patrol.
Trooper Rovnak was a Vietnam veteran, having served with a Military Police detachment in the US Army.
Trooper Rovnak was a sixteen-year veteran and had been assigned to patrol Interstate 84 and the Taconic Parkway since 1969.
