Ready or not here it comes! Opening day of deer and bear season along with some significant snowfall.

We've had a few teasers with trace amounts of snow, but it looks like old man winter means business this weekend. The National Weather Service is predicting "active and dynamic" weather Saturday, November 18th. Expect high winds and colder temperatures, followed by the first significant lake effect snow of the season. You may want to find your shovels, pull out the snow blower, and put the plow on your truck.

It's still too early to know how much of the white stuff we'll see but it could make deer and bear season a bit easier for hunters. Depending on the temperature, deer may try to feed for hours at a time and then hunker down. On the other hand, deer are in the rut, and on the move, so heavy snowfall and poor visibility may not matter. Only time will tell how it all pans out.
