According to the AMP press release

Rome natives, Mark and Anna Casadei, whose work in the entertainment industry has attracted A-list talent, will be bringing more productions to the area. Why Central New York? Mark said, "With its rich history and endless support from local government officials, it was the perfect choice both business and financial wise." Keeping production costs down is always a challenge for any Hollywood-level production, and Rome provided a unique opportunity to do just that.
