Heads up drivers, there is some new laws to pay attention to on New York roads in 2017. The Move-Over law in New York is expanding to include volunteer emergency response vehicles.

The law was first put in place back in 2012. Not only are drivers suppose to be slowing down, or moving over, for police cars, fire trucks, and tow trucks, but now they will have to do so for Volunteer Emergency Services vehicles as well according to Rochester First.

Any vehicle with flashing blue and white lights will have to be treated the same as your typical red flashing lights.

The $275 fine and 3 points under the expanded “move over” law statute remains the same. Keep that in mind while driving out on the roads. You can read the full law by Clicking Here.
