It's going to feel a lot like late summer across Upstate and Central New York this weekend - then we get back to more seasonable weather early next week.

According to NYUP.com, a strong storm system will make it's way in from the Midwest, through the Great Lakes this weekend and will send warm air and windy conditions into our neck of the woods for a good part of the weekend. As the storm begins to take shape on Saturday, low pressure begins to strengthen and a warm front develops. Our weather is largely dependent on the position of the front.

Most of the weekend will be dry as the storm remains off to the north and west of our area. However, there are two possible exceptions. First, there's the possibility for a couple light, scattered showers developing Saturday morning, but for the most part most areas will receive very little if any rain at all. Second, when the storm passes late Sunday it will push a cold front through. The front will kick off some widespread rain and even some thunder.

Sunshine and a combination of a breezy south wind will push temperatures in the low 70's on Saturday and the upper 70's to near 80 on Sunday. Winds will be gusty on Saturday, turning much windier on Sunday.

All in all, the weekend looks fantastic for mid- October - Get out and enjoy it, because we all know what's on the way in the next few months.
