Can Seaplanes Take Off (And Land) Without Water?

Just like when you take your boat out of the water before winter to avoid ice damage, seaplanes need the same treatment too. Some seaplanes are amphibious which means that they have retractable wheels to allow them to land at any regular airport too, but for those that are straight up water planes, once the ice melts again ya gotta get them back up in the air.
