"Hello Syracuse and the World. My Name is Prince, and I'm here to play with you" - that's how Prince opened his 1985 concert in Syracuse.

That legendary concert is now available on DVD. NPG and Warner Bros. Records released the show entitled "Prince and the Revolution: Live" on June 23. The show is part of a reissue from Prince's 1984 #1 soundtrack album, "Purple Rain".

The March 30,1985 performance was shot at the Carrier Dome and aired on live TV to millions of viewers in Europe. The concert is only included in an expanded edition of the collection. It includes an additional disc of single edits and B-sides from the Purple Rain album. The DVD features restored audio and video from the original production master tape.

According to Syracuse.com, the Purple One kicked off the almost 2-hour Syracuse show with "Let's Go Crazy", which at that time was one of his most popular songs. He ended the show with a 20 minute version of Purple Rain, which featured a 10 minute guitar solo.

Revolution keyboardist Lisa Coleman told the Minneapolis Star Tribune how excited Prince was about the Syracuse show , especially since it was being televised and recorded.

Up until now, this concert has only been available as a VHS bootleg.
