Lack of this RX Could Cause Consumer Headaches
If you suffer from regular headaches, perhaps even as intense as migraines, it may become more difficult to purchase an over-the-counter medicine that many of us use regularly. That's because the manufacturer has decided to cease production of the popular medicine.
According to sources, the makers of Excedrin have ceased production of the popular headache medicine over what they say are discrepancies with the way the product is weighed and distributed.
GlaxoSmithKline, makers of Excedrin have issued in part this statement according to News 10 ABC:
"We discovered inconsistencies in how we transfer and weigh ingredients for Excedrin Extra Strength Caplets and Geltabs and Excedrin Migraine Caplets and Geltabs. Based on the available data, GSK believes that the product, does not pose a safety risk to consumers. However, as a precautionary measure, GSK Consumer Healthcare has voluntarily implemented a discontinuation of production and distribution. Other Excedrin products are available along with other pain-relieving drugs, but dosages may differ."
