Have You Seen The Angels Crossing Sign?

Have you ever noticed this sign up in a tree on Clinton Street in Whitesboro?

We drive by this every day, and we're extremely curious 'what is this sign about?' It says Slow Angels Crossing.

Every time we see it, we wonder why is it there? What does it represent? Why is it so high in the tree? What does it mean? Who did that? How did it get there?

There are two signs so you can see it no matter what way you're driving on Clinton Street.

While we were taking the pictures, someone was walking by, and we asked if she had any answers for us. She said she didn't know why the sign was there, but she's been walking by it for more than 15 years.
