Did you order a ton of Girl Scout Cookies this year? I know my girlfriend and I ordered a few boxes. Maybe you're like me and you usually eat Samoas by the sleeves. Well if you're lucky enough to be heading out to California anytime in the near future be sure to ask for some Girl Scout Cookie Beer at the Cervecería de MateVeza cafe and small brewery in San Francisco. This little cafe serves Girl Scout Cookie ale. Sounds amazing right?

Since the doors opened at Cevercería de MateVeza in 2012, partners Jim Woods and Matt Coelho have been creating a steady lineup of beers. A few weeks ago they came up with a plan to create a series of five ales/beers inspired by Girl Scout Cookies. Think about it, every one loves them. They are sold all over and it makes total sense. Cookies are delicious, and so is beer.

What cookies did they decide to go with? They chose five: Thin Mints to create Peppermint Porter, Samoas to create a Belgian Dubbel, Do-si-dos to create Peanut Butter Cream Ale Trefoils to create Shortbread Golden Ale, and Peanut Butter Patties to create a Salted Chocolate Stout with Peanut Butter on Nitro. Sounds amazing right? The beers were made available on Friday, March 15th. Each one was served with the cookie that inspired it. So how did the idea of adding these treasures to beer come about?

Someone brought some Somoas in here.....I was just sitting here eating one and thinking that it would be really interesting to do all the Girl Scout Cookies as beers.

You can read a lengthy interview with the San Francisco Brewers Guild on how each beer was brewed and created by Clicking Here.

I wish our local brewery's would make this. I would buy it in a second!
