372,684 Pounds Of Chicken And Pork Products Recalled
Bar-S Foods recalls approximately 372,684 pounds of chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The ready-to-eat, chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog items were produced on July 10, 11, 12, and 13, 2016.
CHICKEN, PORK ADDED” with “Use By” date of 10/11/2016 and case code 209.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. P-81A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide and available in Central New York at:
- Dollar Tree
- Hannaford
- Price Chopper
- Shoprite
- Walmart
- Wegman's
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.
