We're new to the area and we don't know where to go or how to start looking for a kennel. We could ask Fred and Ethal next door but that is a huge burden for a neighbor that really doesn't know our pets. The same holds true for a friend or a friend of a friend.

You decide you need a kennel but who should you entrust your family pet to in your absence? Foremost look for an ABKA member kennel. That's American Boarding Kennels Association, their goal is happy, healthy pets and satisfied pet owners.

How to find a kennel:

1.Try google: You can do a search for kennels in your area. The internet is your friend and you can find out a bunch of information about your local kennels.

2. Ask a friend with pets if they have used the same kennel and if there were any problems during their pets stay and have they used the same kennel again.

3. Better Business Bureau is another avenue to check for unsettled issues.

4. Visit the kennels in your area, there is no substitute for a face to face visit.

5. Ask your Facebook friends,
