The toys are taking over this Holiday season. First it was Hatchimals, now the must-have toy for older kids is the NES Classic. Here's where you might be able to get one in Central New York.

The NES Classic is a re-issue of the original Nintendo Entertainment System that is smaller than the original and comes pre-loaded with 30 games and a full-size original controller.

The problem is, like Hatchimals you have a better chance of finding Bigfoot than one of these consoles in Central New York right now.

So once again, we decided to do some leg work for you and we happened to find some hope!

First, we checked the usual places. Walmart, Target and Toys R Us were all dead ends.

As the story goes, employees of those stores have no idea what items will be on the trucks when they arrive. When they do its a crapshoot whether any NES Classics will be in the shipment. If there are, customers usually grab them up within minutes.

An associate at Best Buy says they are expecting a shipment of the NES Classic on December 20 at 8:00 a.m.

Here's how it will go down:

  • Show up to Best Buy in New Hartford early on the 20th and line up.
  • Store associates will hand out tickets tho those who want an NES Classic on a first come, first served basis.
  • Hopefully head home with the hottest toy this Holiday season!

Good luck, and remember if all else fails try or, but beware because some reports say the NES Classic on Ebay can be two or three times the retail price.

Also, if you(or the kids) were into the Sega Genesis back in the day, Sega has released a similar console that is available at Bed, Bath & Beyond in New Hartford!
