Our friends over at the Westmoreland High School will be presenting the comedy “9 to 5: The Musical” on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd at 7:00pm in the high school auditorium. The show will feature music and lyrics by Dolly Parton,  and is based off the book by Patricia Resnick. The musical is also based on the 1980 hit movie Nine to Five.

So what's the show about you ask?

Pushed to the boiling point by their boss, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. They conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do -- even in a man's world. Set in the late 1970s, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. Outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic, 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL is about teaming up and taking care of business.

The show is directed by Kirk and Debbie Baldwin, and features great music and a cast and crew of over 80 students. The pit band is directed by Miss Kristyn Morgan. The cast features Brigid Edwards as Violet Newstead; Jessica Harper as Doralee Rhodes; Kendra McGregor as Judy Bernly; Chris Sears as Franklin Hart, Jr.; Becca Stottlar as Roz Keith; Jake Landry as Joe; Jamie Mazur as Dolly; Alexa McGregor as Maria; Katie Landcastle as Kathy; Sara VanSlyke as Margaret; Katy Evans as Missy Hart and Alan Dee as Dwayne.

Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $6.00 for Students and Senior Citizens and can be purchased at the door. Curtain is at 7:00pm. Please note that this show has been rated PG by Music Theater International.
