In case you haven't noticed, it's been raining a bit in Central New York. That means puddles.

The arterial isn't exactly amazing at draining water. In fact, you probably remember when it flooded a few years ago - and cars ended up actually FLOATING along the roadway. It hasn't gotten that bad recently - but there are still large areas of standing water - aka puddles.

Twice now, I've driven through one particular puddle, on the northbound side of the arterial, in the far right lane. It's just past the Burrstone Road bridge as you get to the Indium building. Both times, the depth has been enough to pull my SUV to the right, nearly hydroplaning me off the road.

I have new tires, and a big old vehicle, but someone is going to hit that bad boy and end up off the road or hitting the curb - and since it doesn't look like it's going to stop raining EVER - I thought I'd let you know.

What potholes or hazards do you know you have to avoid on your way to work?
