Travel Advisory Issued For Oneida, Otsego and Madison County
County Executive Anthony Picente has issued a travel advisory for Oneida County effective immediately.
WIBX reports a travel advisory is in effect for Oneida County due to the snowfall continuing throughout the afternoon. Expect poor visibility and hazardous road conditions. Anthony Picente is urging no unnecessary travel until further notice.
Snow Emergencies are currently in effect for the City of Utica as well as the Villages of Whitesboro, Yorkville, Herkimer, Frankfort, and Ilion.
Otsego County Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. has issued a travel advisory for all Otsego County Roads through February 8, 2018, at 6:00 am. Caution is advised since hazardous driving conditions could be encountered. Roads are not closed and the travel advisory is being issued based on poor visibility, slippery roads, blowing and/or drifting snow.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office has issued a restricted travel advisory through 7 p.m. Wednesday. Only essential travel is recommended. Those who must travel are advised to use extreme caution due to deteriorating weather conditions.
