The day before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year.  Weather you plan on flying to a long distance destination, or driving a short distance, how are the early forecasts looking for Central New York?

According to the weather bureau in Binghamton, the milder temperatures we are enjoying this week will disappear before Thanksgiving.  We may see a high approaching 60 degrees this Saturday, but by the time next Wednesday rolls around, the high is expected to only be in the upper 30's.  The good news is that as of now, any snow would happen early next week, with none expected in the Mohawk Valley area for Thanksgiving or the day before.  Black Friday is expected to be dry as well.

As you head west to the Syracuse area, there is a possibility of lake effect snow.  The weather bureau says that chance exists west of Syracuse as well as on I-81 north of the city.

However, if you plan on flying next week, there may be storms in the Midwest that could cause problems, especially in Chicago.   But the weather service reminds us that things can easily change in the 10 days before Thanksgiving.
