Hot, sticky and humid describes the weather in Central New York.

It's been a rainy, muggy, mosquito breeding, fall. Some say all we need is snow on Saturday to make it a completely crazy forecast.

Comfortable dew points are below 60 degrees. As you can see here in CNY, the dew point is above 65 degrees making the air feel “sticky.” Mental Floss describes it perfectly: "A dew point between 55°F and 60°F is noticeably humid. It's muggy when the dew point is above 60°F, and it's uncomfortable outside when it ticks above 65°F. Any dew point readings above 70°F are oppressive and even dangerous, the kind of stickiness you experience in the tropics or during a brutal summer heat wave."

Large fluctuations in temperatures have us experiencing Summer-like warmth today and again tomorrow. Rain, possibly heavy Thursday. Then fall-like cool weather returns by the end of the week into the weekend.

The NWS says high pressure will continue moving slowly further offshore from the Mid-Atlantic coastline with a frontal boundary well to our northwest. Southerly winds will continue to send warmth and moisture northward into the region. Fog and low clouds this morning will be slow to burn off as a result through the morning. However, more in the way of sunshine is expected this afternoon. The high-pressure system will keep the day precipitation free with temperatures in the 80's.
