The Village of Ilion, like most in Central New York has it's own place in history, but like many villages and towns in the area, Ilion has undergone a lot of changes over the years. This video gives you a glimpse into the past of the Village that gave the world the Remington rifle.

Created by YouTube user Ginny Miller, this video is composed of old postcards from Ilion that show how the village looked in the late 1800's and early 1900's, before urban renewal changed the face of Ilion into what we know today.

The postcards vary from actual photographs to drawings and paintings of the old landscape, buildings and layout of the village.

You can see how Main Street and the Erie Canal used to run through Remington Arms Co. in downtown Ilion, as well as views of the original high school, Second Street hill, and much more.

It is quite a difference, especially when you look at how Ilion's Historic Main Street looks today by comparison.
