State Supreme Court Overturns Ban on Flavored Vap Products

Governor Cuomo overstepped his authority on this one.

At least, according to a New York State Supreme Court that overturned his emergency ban on flavored vaping products.  The ruling was made just this past week to overturn Cuomo's ban on flavored vaping products.  According to NBC New York, the regulation of the vaping industry is a matter for the state Legislature.  It's not a job of the executive branch.  As CBS 6 Albany put it simply, Cuomo overstepped his authority on this one.

NBC New York reported that in speaking with a spokesman for Governor Cuomo, the judge did acknowledge how serious the issue with vaping is, but that they were, of course, upset with the decision.  On the other hand, CBS 6 Albany shared a different perspective, with shop owners talking about the damage done to their businesses by all of this.

It's overturned for now, but something tells me this won't be the last we're all hearing of it.
