New York State Police in Norwich have made an arrest in the investigation into the murder of an 11-year-old girl.

According to New York State Police, troopers originally responded to a residence on County Route 33 in Norwich, NY on Sunday at approximately 11:00 a.m. They received an emergency call for a young girl in cardiac arrest. Upon arrival police discovered 11-year-old Jacelyn O'Connor was dead.

Further investigation determined that O'Connor's death was the result of a homicide. On Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 New York State Police arrested 36-year-old James Brower and charged him with 1st Degree Murder. Brower was arraigned and remanded to the Chenango County Jail without bail pending further court proceedings.
