‘Relay For Life’ Looking To Turn Rome Purple – Business Needed To Participate!

The winning Rome business will have their name added to the 2020 Relay For Life of Rome event t-shirts!

The American Cancer Society is asking Rome businesses to show support for the fight against cancer by displaying purple ribbons and other decorations on May 15th & 16th. Purple is the signature color of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life program, which represents all cancers.

Last year, almost 40 Rome businesses participated with ‘purple’ dress down days for employees, turned their storefront purple, had special purple-themed sales during the day, and local schools decorated their hallways and windows with purple-inspired decorations. We're looking for more than 40 participants this year! Please join us!

Volunteers will visit businesses on Wednesday, May 15^th to judge their decorations and displays, with judging for schools on Thursday, May 16^th.

Winners will be selected in several categories including:

• Best of Show
• Most Purple People
• Purplize Your Merchandise
• Most Creative Use of Purple

Winners will be notified and awards presented during the ‘Fight Back’ ceremony at this year’s Relay For Life on June 1^st.  The ‘Best in Show’ winner will have their name added to the back of the 2020 Relay For Life of Rome event t-shirts!
