For anyone who has ever smoked, you know how hard quitting can be. A new app has been designed to keep you on track, and remind you why you're quitting.

When you're trying to quit smoking, you'll try just about any idea, any suggestion that's given to you. It's a tough thing to do, but a new app wants to make it easier. The app is called "Smoke Free," and it's available for free in the Google Play Store and the Apple Store.

So what makes this app so special?

Well, you start by putting in all your smoking information - like how much does a pack of cigarettes cost, how many you normally smoke in a day, and how soon you have your first cigarette of the day. Then you set your quit day. The app then keeps track of how much money you've saved, how long you've been smoke-free, how much of your life you're regaining, how many cigarettes you HAVEN'T smoked, among other stats.

There's also a spot to help you when you start craving cigarettes. It's kind of like a daily diary with smoking. You can put in how bad the craving is, and it gives you advice, words of encouragement, and other things you can do at the moment instead of reaching for a cigarette.

The app takes a look at your health, as well. It tells you things like how long until pulse goes back to normal, and gives you 'badges' for making it through certain situations, and being smoke-free for certain amounts of time.

It's not a fool-proof way to quit smoking - You have to be ready and WANT to quit smoking, but it does help you get motivated and keep you going if you're ready to make that decision. You can get more information about this app here.
