4,530 pounds of chicken nugget products (produced for Applegate Farms) have been recalled because it may be contaminated with plastic pieces. 

We searched the product via applegate.com/locater and it say's the product was available at Hannaford locations including:

  • 50 Kellogg Road, New Hartford
  • 401 East Albany Street, Herkimer
  • 55 Meadow Street, Clinton
  • 1122 Mohawk Street, Utica
  • 4593 Commercial Drive, New Hartford
  • 705 State Highway 28, Oneonta

The company was alerted to the problem and issued the recall when consumers were complaining of small, solid, clear plastic pieces inside the Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets. The chicken nuggets were produced by Perdue for the Apple Gate Farm label.

The nuggets are found it 8-oz. boxed packages containing approximately 18 pieces of “Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets” with Best Before Date 09/27/2016 and has establishment number “P-2617” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail distribution centers in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, and Texas.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

This Perdue Foods LLC recall is listed as a Class 1 recall and states: This is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.
