Thinking back when I was growing up in Boondocks Iowa, I remember being in school and a representative from summer camp would come in and give us a presentation about upcoming summer camp. My eyes widened with excitement and I couldn't wait to reenact this presentation to my folks. With help from the brochure that was given, I gave my spiel....to no avail. It just wasn't in the budget this year, or the year after, or the year after that. What I would have given to have something like Operation Sunshine in my corner. Here is your opportunity to help out some kids whom, without your help, may not be able to attend camp.

You can purchase this t-shirt from Utica Custom T-Shirt Company at 604 Columbia St., all throughout the month of June to raise money for Operation Sunshine, an O-D charity that is helping to send kids to summer camp who would otherwise be unable to go. Shirts cost $15 and $7.50 of each purchase goes towards Operation Sunshine.
The agencies affiliated with the summer campership campaign are: The Arc, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Catholic Charities, Kamp Kiwanis, The Neighborhood Center, The Salvation Army of Utica and of Rome, and the Kelberman Center.
To purchase a t-shirt to support the cause, call 731-7845 to order a shirt that will be ready within 2-5 days for pick-up.
