New Stewart’s Shop Coming Erie Blvd In Rome

Stewart's Shops just got the go-ahead to expand and build a proposed Stewart's Shop convenience store in Rome. This will make the third Stewart's Shop to be built in the Rome area.

The companies proposal is a 3,696 square foot store with gas pumps at the corner of Jay Street and Erie Boulevard West. The planning board voted unanimously to approve Stewart's site plan at its Tuesday meeting.

Stewart's Shops has been in business for more than 70 years. Today there are over 335 Stewart's Shops located in 31 counties across upstate New York and Southern Vermont, with two-thirds of the shops selling gas.

Stewart's Shops employs over 4,500 people in their shops, dairy ice cream plant, distribution center, and corporate offices.
