New Hartford and VVS Among The Best Athletic Schools in the State

I grew up in the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill School District and now live in New Hartford, so it comes as no surprise to me that both schools were listed in a recent roundup as some of the most desirable in New York State in terms of athletics.

Niche.com who mainly serves families looking to relocate, put together the list (and many others) based mainly on user reviews from parents and students and not so much on sports records, so there is a degree of subjectivity to the results. While a whole mess of Syracuse area schools made the list, only two were from CNY. New Hartford came in 21st out of all 1180 state high schools and VVS came in 58th. Both schools also remain in the top third of public schools overall in NYS with New Hartford rolling in at 65th and VVS at 300th.

Both schools also rank impressively on a national level as well. Out of almost 18,000 schools, New Hartford is a whopping 180th for attracting the best teachers and the 619th best school in the nation overall while VVS comes in at #2327 in teachers and #4697 overall!
