This bizarre story could easily be an episode of a future Unsolved Mysteries.

A mother and daughter from NYC visited Syracuse over the weekend to enjoy food, games, and attractions of the New York State Fair.  But their weekend of amusement and fun turned cold and deadly when on Saturday night, the mom and her 15-year-old daughter became unnerved when they heard two loud "bangs" inside their hotel which they thought could be gunshots.  A short time later, as they looked outside of their room overlooking the pool, they saw what appeared to be a dead body floating on the surface of the water.  And that's exactly what it was.

According to Syracuse.com, "a 41-year-old woman drowned sometime Saturday night, said Lt. Jerry Pace, a spokesman for the DeWitt Police Department. Police have identified the woman as Annette Scott, a Syracuse resident who was staying at the (Ramada by Wyndham) hotel on Old Collamer Road South."

The mom, whose name is Cavita, and her 15-year-old daughter did indeed see Scott's lifeless body floating in the hotel pool.  Police say she drowned sometime between 10 PM and 10:45 PM on Saturday night.

What about security cameras inside the hotel? Surely someone had to have seen or heard something, don't you think?

According to sources, a coroner's report has yet to reveal the actual cause of death, and while police don't suspect any foul play, they're leaving no stones unturned as they investigate.

According to Syracuse.com, it is believed that the two loud bangs Cavita and her daughter heard shortly before seeing Scott's body were most likely the sounds of emergency responders breaking into the pool area after another hotel guest reported what they saw.
