Uticon, the Mohawk Valley’s longest running comic book show to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, is back once again and bigger than ever for its 2016 event.

Sunday, October 2, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Mohawk Valley Community College’s Jorgensen Center Uticon comes to life. Uticon is the perfect blend of pop culture, with veteran writers and illustrators of the comic book industry, talent from comic’s independent scene, some of the best merchandise dealers in the Northeast, local authors, educational opportunities, and a chance to help brighten the day of deployed soldiers throughout the world.

As part of a team effort with Mohawk Valley Community College’s Cultural Series, comic book industry veteran Bob Rozakis, whose 25 year career at DC Comics saw him guiding the destinies of such well-known characters as Batman, The Flash, Superman, and the Teen Titans, will give a lecture titled Graphic Novels: Past Present and Future on Friday, September 30 at 2 p.m. at MVCC in Utica (Room 116, Alumni Center) and again at 6 p.m. at MVCC in Rome (Room 209, Plumely Complex).

Operation Supply Drop will be on hand accepting donations of new and used video game hardware and games. Operation Supply Drop assembles care packages which are sent to veterans deployed as well as to those in hospitals or to military installations across the world along with supporting events like homecomings, family days, Christmas parties and deployment ceremonies.

Guests from throughout the comic industry will be on hand to meet and greet fans, talk about their favorite characters, sign books and merchandise, and in some cases, take commissions for original art! Guests include but are not limited to Bob Rozakis (Batman, Teen Titans), Todd Dezago (Spider-Man, Young Justice), Steve Geiger (The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man), Tom Peyer (Batman, The Flash), and Craig Rousseau (Harley Quinn, Batman).

Comic book creators who call the Mohawk Valley home will be on hand, including Rich Perrota (X-Men, Iron Man), CT Avis (Ironedge, Upshot), John Castello (The Adventures of Chipmunk Jones), Andrew Cieslinski and Dave Dellecese (Holidaze), Kyle Lince (The Prodigal Outlaw, Magyra), Sean Mills (Gamer Girl and Vixen), Michael Peckham (Ouroboros), Blake Pitcher (Letters from the Apocalypse), and Dennis Webster (Haunted Mohawk Valley).
