Rapper and businessman Jay-Z has announced that he’ll be doing a series of concerts next fall at the new arena where the NBA’s Nets will soon call home. Jay-Z, of course, is part owner of the team.

An all-access pass to events at The Barclays Center will go for up to $15,400 per season. It’s set to open on Sept. 28, 2012.

At that time, the New Jersey Nets will also change the name of the franchise to the Brooklyn Nets. Even though the name change only became official Monday, it was much speculated, and the team has already been selling tickets at the new venue since the spring.

Jay-Z has worked closely with Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov to try to turn the Nets team around and transform them into a big-time draw in New York City. The building of the arena is part of a larger construction project aimed at drawing people to Brooklyn.
