Come on, really? I took these pictures at Walmart in September, and I'm still not over my shock in October.

I went to Walmart in New Hartford for puppy food and what do I see? The Garden Center is now the Christmas Shop. This was in September for crying out loud. It's unfortunate (for me because I'll never hear the end of it) when my husband is right, but on this particular point, I have to agree with him. Christmas is so commercialized that many stores get away with this nonsense and some customers think it's acceptable.

I understand If you want to get the shopping out of the way to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities, but this is just bull. I've been shopping all year for thoughtful gifts and putting them away. I don't need the Christmas Shop to do it. Like Douglas says, 'commercialism.'

This holiday season Walmart is offering Layaway from early September to mid-December. That's earlier than ever. They're also advertising Early Access, Pre-Black Friday, Online Specials, Black Friday, and their Christmas Ad Match Program.

Am I the only one bugged by this? Have you noticed other stores are trying to cash in early? Let us know in the comments.
