WKTV reports Gap and Matthew's Hallmark will be closing at the Sangertown Square Mall.

Over the summer Gap stores had closed in Ithaca and Syracuse. 140 stores were closed this year. According to a report from  Syracuse.com in July, Gap at Sangertown Square was supposedly safe.

That'll leave the Gap at Sangertown Square in New Hartford as the only location for the chain in Central New York.

WKTV reports Gap and Matthew's Hallmark plan to close January 26th according to employees at each store.

After a call to the Gap Store at Sangertown Square mall and inquiring about the return policy for Christmas gifts after the store closes in January, we were told to "follow the instructions on the receipt."

Mathew's Hallmark is also closing at Sangertown Square, but you can still purchase Hallmark items at:

  • Hummel's Office Plus in Herkimer and Rome
  • Tracy's Hallmark Shop at New Hartford Shopping Center
  • Colozzi's at New Hartford Shopping Center and North Utica
