Friendly’s In Camillus Closes After 40 Years In Business
After 40 years of serving up smiles and good memories, the Friendly's restaurant in Camillus has closed for good.
Friendly's restaurants confirmed that the Camillus location at 5407 West Genesee Street has closed. The reason they report is that the restaurant's lease there has expired.
Friendly's restaurants have been closing all across Central New York over the past 5-10 years. Locally in Rome, the chain closed up shop in 2012, along with the Fayetteville Friendly's and Oswego Road in Clay locations. Six restaurants closed in Central New York that year. Along with those closures, Friendly's in Sangertown Square Mall closed as well.
Friendly's still has locations on Erie Boulevard in DeWitt, James Street in Syracuse and two on Route 31 in Clay, including one at Great Northern Mall. Also there is one currently open here in Utica.
