Cindy had the honor of chatting with music legend Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.

Brian Wilson is performing his album 'Pet Sounds' at the Oncenter Sunday, October 1,

It took us 2 months to write it and 3 months to record it. I worked with the Wrecking Crew. They had great musicians

2017. Pet Sounds has been called one of the most celebrated albums in rock history. At the time their record label Capitol, refused to back the album and were throwing all their promotions behind the 'Best of the Beach Boys' that was released less than 2 months after Pet Sounds. Making Pet Sounds at that time cost the small fortune of  $70,000.

Brian says he was tired of doing surf and car songs and that took him in the direction on Pet Sounds. It was very different from anything they had recorded. "It took us 2 months to write it and 3 months to record it. I worked with the Wrecking Crew. They had great musicians."

Brian has performed Pet Sounds in its entirety over 165 times throughout this tour and

NO! I'm not gonna retire

says "it gets better eveyday, we get a little better." They're not adding more dates to this tour. Is Wilson planning to call it quits after it's over? 'NO! I'm not gonna retire."

Brian's message to the next generation of musicians is "to not take drugs for one thing and to try to write a whole song."

'California Girls' is Wilson's favorite song to perform and we hope you get to see it at the On-Center.
