Could the story been written any better? As I watched the Yankees last home game of the season Thursday night, Derek Jeter had a dramatic finish. Coming up to bat in a tie game in the bottom of the 9th, Jeter hit a walk off single, driving in the winning run over the Orioles as his last at bat at Yankee Stadium. A perfect ending to a magnificent career as a Yankee.

If you missed it, watch this incredible dramatic finish as Derek Jeter drives in the winning run and says farewell to Yankee fans.

And it's not over yet. Derek Jeter is retiring at the end of the season, and the Yankees have three more games to play this weekend at Fenway Park against the Red Sox. Here's the latest on that according to an article by Jamal Collier/mlb.com on m.yankees.mlb.com:

"NEW YORK -- Derek Jeter wanted to leave something special about his final game at Yankee Stadium, so even though he decided he will play at some point in Boston this weekend, Thursday was his final game at shortstop.

"Out of respect for the Red Sox, their fans and the rivalry, I'm going to DH," Jeter said after driving in the game-winning run in the Yankees' 6-5 victory over the Orioles."
