Let's spread the love and health benefits of wine.

Moderate drinkers of wine have lower risks of liver disease, type II diabetes, certain kinds of cancers, heart attack and stroke. It also can reduce the bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase the good (HDL).

How about activities with wine?  Art and Vine where Experience is NOT necessary but enthusiasm IS welcomed.  New Hartford Painting With A Twist offers many classes where you pick your own colors. They also feature family friendly events, couples night and teen night. The Thirsty Painters offer up wine and painting on things like barn boards, canvas, hand saws and some paintings include LED lights.

Enjoy your wine in ice cream. Have you tried Mercer's Wine Ice Cream from Boonville? If not then sample it. If you already love it then stock up.

Cook with wine and make wine lollipops. All you need is Port wine, corn syrup, sugar, and salt. You can also try making wine gummies. Follow the directions carefully on this one so you don't  burn off the alcohol. There are tons of recipes for entrees and desserts using your favorite wine.

It's hard to imagine once a bottle of wine is opened there's any leftover, but if there is look at what you can do with it.

  • Clean your fruits and veggies - wine kills germs
  • Red wine is a great skin toner
  • Put in your bath for extra soft skin
  • Cook and marinate with it
  • Use red wine as a dye for clothing or Easter eggs
  • Turn into ice cubes
  • Make vinegar
  • White wine cleans red wine spills on carpet
  • Turn it into jelly for a different kind of toast
  • Mull it
