The phrase “Play it again, Sam” was never uttered in the movie Casablanca, however, for a price, you could be playing it again and again and again.  The piano from the movie is up for auction, lessons are extra.  Maybe you can one day plink out the tune “As Time Goes By” and impress your friends.  It goes on auction block Dec 14, so not much time to save your pennies.  The Auction will take place in Paris and is estimated worth is between $800,000 and $1.2 million.  All of this just in time for the film’s 70th anniversary.  Sotheby’s, the auction house that currently owns the piano, has had it since 1988 and has waited for this moment to hopefully bring in the highest possible price.  “Here’s looking at you, kid”, is what most people say when they are doing their best impersonation of Humphrey Bogart, who starred in the film.  “Casablanca” premiered on Thanksgiving 1942 and won three oscars in 1943, including best picture.  I have included a clip of Sam playing the tune “As Time Goes By”  Enjoy and ummmmm……happy bidding?
