A popular blood pressure medicine is on a voluntary recall by the FDA.

There are roughly 30% of the population takes high blood pressure meds on a regular basis in the US CNN reports, several medications containing the active ingredient Valsartan may contain carcinogens, prompting the recall.

The US has joined 22 other countries that have recalled various valsartan products. the recall includes products manufactured by Solco Healthcare, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and major pharmaceuticals.

Valsartan users are recommended to check with the prescription label to check the name of the manufacturer if not there, you should contact your pharmacist or family physician.
