I'm a man that likes to save money no matter what. I don't consider myself cheap, just shop smart. Here's some of my favorite places in CNY to eat at and maybe they are yours too.

1) Best Chinese Food- China Wong

I love Chinese food. I could literally eat it seven days a week, and lucky for me The China Wong is open seven days a week. They have great lunch specials for those in the office not looking to spend a lot. You get your choice of egg roll, or a soda with every lunch special. You can't go wrong. Try the General Tso's, it's only $5.25! The China Wong is on Oriskany Blvd in Yorkville.

2) Best Chicken Wings- Cianfrocco's Subs & Wings

Growing up there was no other place in Rome to get wings but Cinfrocco's. My mother worked there for a while, while I grew up, so it was a tradition to always get them on Saturdays before Saturday Night Live. They have great subs, and great wings. You can't go wrong! These wings are amazing, and for a great price. Cinfrocco's is open late on East Dominic Street in Rome!

3) Best Ice Cream- Nicky Doodles

It's not truly spring in Rome until Nicky Doodles is opened. You watch the sign go down from 70 days, 3, 2, 1 then you know its spring! I thought they only had Ice Cream but was amazed by their hot dogs last year. This place should truly be featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! With so many Ice Cream flavors to choose from, you can't go wrong! Nicky Doodles has a few locations through-out CNY, the one in Rome is on Erie Blvd, right across from McDonalds and the Westgate Plaza.

4) Best Upside Down Pizza- Pasquale's Pizza on Varick Street

I'm such a big fan of this place I'm betting I gained ten pounds last year! There is no greater upside down pizza in Utica then Pasquale'son Varick Street. Best part it is cheap. The sauce is amazing, the cheese is amazing, and it goes great on Saranac Thursdays in down town. Plus they have a Pac-Man machine. Where can you go wrong?

5) Best Local Beer- Utica Club

Get acquainted with a Central New York classic, now celebrating more than seventy years in the pantheon of great American beers, it's Utica Club. My father thanks his birth, and his 8 brothers and sisters to this fine beer. Discover the smooth, refreshing taste of one of America's proudest brewing traditions right in our own backyard at the Brewery in Utica.
