America’s Weirdest State Is Florida

For a state that is a huge vacation/old people destination spot I would never have guess this, AOL News has named Florida America's Weirdest State. It seems that the Sunshine State is the state that generates the most weird news.

According to Florida resident and founder of "News of the Weird" Chuck Shepherd, Florida became the weird news capital a little more than a decade ago.And, Florida historian Gary Mormino agrees that Florida overtook California as "the new capital of weirdness" in the 1990s or 2000s.

Since the hanging chads in the 2000 Presidential election, analysis of Associated Press stories has also identified Florida as the nation's strangest state.
