Adopt a Pet in a Plant Next Time You’re in Western New York
Another New York business is stepping up to help some local furry friends get adopted.
The Plant Shack, a cute little plant shop in East Aurora, just announced its new partnership with the Niagara County SPCA with a little something called "Adopt a Pet in a Plant." The shop is going to start labeling its pet-friendly plants with photos of adoptable animals from the shelter.
Not only will this help customers know which plants are safe around their pups and felines, it might also encourage them to provide a forever home for an animal in need. The Plant Shack will start labeling their plants in the coming weeks, but already, they're offering a free, small, pet-friendly plant to anyone who adopts from the Niagara County SPCA, with proof, of course.
Even if you're not ready to welcome a new pet into your home, you can still help The Plant Shack support the SPCA. Starting in September, a portion of the proceeds from every pet-friendly plant will go to the SPCA, so keep an eye out for those plants and shop away!
You can stop by The Plant Shack next time you're in the Buffalo area, and if you want to get a headstart on your shopping, you can check out what's in stock on The Plant Shack's website.
Other Western New York businesses have also stepped up this year to help animals at the Niagara County SPCA find homes. Back in March, Just Pizza & Wing Co. in Amherst starting putting pictures of adoptable dogs on its pizza boxes. Customers started buying pizzas like crazy, just so they could get one of the dog photos. But what's even cooler? The dogs were getting adopted.
More recently, De Dee's Dairy in Niagara Falls started selling pup cups of vanilla custard that had photos of adoptable dogs in them.
It's great to see local businesses stepping up to help out furry friends in need. Keep up-to-date with the Niagara County SPCA and be the first to know when more businesses hop on board on the shelter's Facebook page.
