A 99-year-old Western New York veteran is showing the world what true love really is as he walks 6 miles every day to be by the side of his ailing wife.
First reported by Spectrum News Rochester, the love story between Luther Younger and Waverlee, his wife of 55-years is one for the books. Of his wife, Luther says "she’s the best cup of tea I ever had. She would come in and kiss me and say baby and feed me in the bed and this is what I need right here.” Luther, a Korean War veteran, has always walked everywhere.
Waverlee has been in and out of hospitals since being diagnosed with a brain tumor, and most recently was admitted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, and Luther has been by her side, walking over six miles to visit his wife every day.
The couple's daughter Lutheta says she's pretty sure someone will make a movie about her parents' love story.
