Mountain Dew/Facebook

Taco Bell has come up with a breakfast juice for champions; Mountain Dew A.M. It’s part of their new breakfast menu. Mountain Dew A.M mixes Mountain Dew soda with Tropicana orange juice. Does that possible sound good at all? Or will this new flavor be another flop for Mountain Dew?

Separately, the industry tracker Beverage Digest said that PepsiCo Inc. next year plans to introduce a drink made with juice, Mountain Dew Kickstart. Mtn Dew A.M. is mixed in restaurants and only available at Taco Bell. Kickstart would be a packaged drink sold by PepsiCo.”

Is adding juice to Mountain Dew truly a good idea? I’m going to pass on it. It may be the nest billion dollar idea, but I’m thinking it will be a major flop. It could join a list of major flops of Mountain. Here’s 5 Forgotten Mountain Dew Flavors.

Mountain Dew MDX

This Mountain Dew-flavored energy soda was introduced in 2005, and was produced through 2007.

Mountain Dew Sport

This Mountain Dew-flavored sports drink was released in a limited number of U.S. regions in 1990. A 2-calorie drink was also released as a Diet version. They were all short-lived, being discontinued in 1991.

Mountain Dew Red

This was released in 1988 as a Fruit-flavored Mountain Dew, Red was the first Mountain Dew flavor variation, and was discontinued the same year it was released. Its legacy lives on as Mountain Dew Code Red, but the two are entirely different flavors.

Mountain Dew Supernova

This was one of the three “candidate flavor” finalists for DEWmocracy's “People’s Dew” national vote, it lost to Mountain Dew Voltage in 2008. It had held the least amount of votes until the end, when it ended up coming in 2nd place. This flavor was re-released as a part of the "Back by popular DEWmand" promotion in early May 2011 and stayed on shelves through July.

Diet Mountain Dew Ultra Violet

This was originally available for three months in 2009; and was the first Mountain Dew flavor available exclusively in Diet. This flavor returned for the "FanDEWmonium" promotion, but ultimately lost to Diet Mountain Dew Supernova, coming in sixth place and not making it into the final round. Its flavor is sometimes compared to that of "Revolution" due to their berry-themed flavoring available exclusively in Diet.
