The third annual Dog Bowl is back on Animal Planet to encouraging viewers to adopt from an age group that's often overlooked at shelters.

The rescue dogs participating in the Dog Bowl are between the ages of 3-14. Sixty-five dogs from 32 different shelters across the country make up Team Goldies and Team Oldies, and a whopping 24 are rescues from New York.

Dog Bowl III, a one-hour special, will air at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, on Animal Planet. Cheer for our New York rescues!

More than 150 adoptable dogs and puppies will appear over the Super Bowl weekend representing 32 shelters from 11 states. During the game, viewers will learn details about the older players and how to apply to adopt.

Don't forget about the Puppy Bowl match-up as #TeamRuff takes on #TeamFluff with 96 puppies from 61 shelters, and 12 are New York rescues. The Puppy Bowl pre-game starts at 10 a.m. on Animal Planet on Super Bowl Sunday.
