Here's proof summer is flying by, hunting and trapping licenses for 2019-2020 in New York are now on sale. Anticipating an early rush, the Department of Environmental Conservation has expanded call center hours, including Saturdays.

Hunting and trapping licenses and Deer Management Permits are good for one year, from September 1 through August 31. You can purchase licenses and permits for the new season at any issuing agentonline, or by phone 866-933-2257.

The DEC is operating expanded hours for Call Centers through October 1. Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Regular call center hours resume On October 2, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Here are the things you need when buying licenses:

Complete contact information (name, address, email address, telephone number)
Proof of residency (driver's license or ID with a valid New York State address)
If purchasing by phone or internet, a valid credit card
Hunter or trapper education certification or a copy of a previous license
