The youngest female contestant in Survivor history has ties to Central New York. 19 year-old Julia Skolowski is a Vermont native but has family in Sauquoit and Clinton.

Sokolowski is competing on the 32nd season of Survivor: Kaoh Rong. She calls herself a super-fan and says she couldn't wait to play. "I've been watching since I was 5 years old. The moment I turned 18 and was old enough to play, I applied."

This season Survivor is divided into 3 tribes. Beauty, Brains and Brawn. Sokolowski is on the beauty tribe and hopes her summer in Tanzania will give her an edge in Cambodia. "I got to hike Kilimanjaro and I learned out to do all this crazy outdoor stuff. I think that will help me."

Sokolowski has put her education at Boston University on hold to play Survivor. She's hoping the decision will end with her being named the sole Survivor and the $1 million prize.
