Another Winter Storm With Heavy Snow Headed For New York State
The calendar says March and we're only 11 days away from the official start of spring. Hopefully, that means in two weeks or so, we can finally break out of this cold weather for good.
But it's still the winter season and for at least the next little while, we have to deal with the threat of snow showers and shots of cold temperatures. That snow and cold happens on Wednesday, with minor accumulations across much of the state, but an even bigger storm is looming for this weekend.
There is a growing chance for a pretty heavy-hitting snowstorm for New York State, from late Friday into Saturday afternoon.
WKBW in Buffalo says that the forecast right now puts just a couple of inches in Western New York, but an even greater chance for snow east of the region. Even up to 8 inches in some regions.
The snow could be heavy and could bring high winds as well.
John Kozlowski of CNY Central shows a forecast of the huge weather system ripping through the state on Saturday and there is some very heavy blues there, indicating heavy snow for those in Central and Upstate New York.
Precise accumulations won't be known until later this week, but it appears that we will have yet another major winter storm to deal with New York State. Winter Storm Watches or Warnings could very well be issued.
It's been a brutally long winter with snow and cold since the start of 2022. We're ready for spring.
