A big congrats goes out to one lucky lottery player in Utica who is now $5 million richer.

49-year old Michael Shepard won the multi-million dollar prize on a 100X the Cash scratch-off ticket. Yolanda Vega presented Shepard with his check at the Price Chopper on Genesee Street, where he bought the ticket.T

"I think my friends were more excited than I was," said Shepard. "I called my financial guy to get some advice and then brought it to the Lottery the claim the prize.”

Shepard chose a one-time lump sum of just over $3.3 million after taxes and plans to invest his winnings after going on a vacation somewhere warm.
